   Also, can I suggest a feed for comments? Especially since “Lost” talk often inspires a lot of conversation & commenting.

   Maybe smokey is made of the ash around jacobs cabin.. I just wonder why it cant go over the sonic fence.

   what about when ben summons the monster to attack keamy?
   he summons it from inside the dharma/others camp – inside the sonic fence.
   looks to be from some room older than dharma

   and also the monster at the temple with the french crew?
   also suggests older than dharma

   maybe the black smoke can split and actually becomes christian, yami, jacob and more people that were dead or not in the island.

   i think smokey was controlled by the DI for desperate situation to protect where they stayed and there station*(aswell as using the gas)this is explain when ben controls it in that room after his daughter was killed. Also is some sort of security system that finds out when people are on the island who not meant to and kills them (Mr eko, pilot of 815)
